Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara Review (Club Millesime Access)

We stayed at the Junior Suite with Club Millesime access for a night over the X’mas period. This was our second time here. The hotel is located in Damansara adjoining the DC mall and directly opposite the soon to be completed Pavilion Damansara Heights shopping mall.

Something about this French hotel oozes class and style. The check in process was a breeze for Accor members. The room was minimalist but had all the basic amenities we needed. The Junior Suite was spacious with a separate living space.

The Club Millesime did not dissapoint. We had access to unlimited food and wine during the evening which pretty made up our dinner. There is a good selection of wines, sparkling wine and liquor unlike many hotel lounges which provided basic house wines. They even had a “by the glass” wine dispensing machine preserving opened bottles from oxidation. Not to mention our favorite Badoit sparkling water. Cheese, cold cuts, canapes and local delights are good for pairing. We spent a good two hours lounging there.

Enjoying cocktails by the pool

Perhaps the one area they could improve on is the coffee served during breakfast. It could be the beans or the roast, it tastes weird. Didn’t see this coming from a 5-star hotel.

The Birch DC Mall

If you are staying here, do check out The Birch at DC Mall. They serve comfort food by day and a modern twist by night. Also their cake and pastries are an absolute peach.

Soleil Restaurant & Wine Bar

If you are looking for some a little less casual, then Soleil Fine Dining Restaurant may fit your repertoire. Founded in August 2013, Soleil Restaurant & Bar is known for its sophisticated fine dining, dishing out authentic contemporary European cuisines weaved with Asian influences. The establishment has been thriving under the tutelage of award-winning European chef, Evert Onderbeke who honed his skills in Belgium’s finest culinary school and was later mentored under the excellence of Chef Roger Souvereyns, a two-star Michelin chef where he fine-tuned the art of fine dining.
Soleil takes pride in its extensive wine collection, many of which are exclusively handpicked by our Sommelier.

Ben’s Independent Grocer

If none of those entices you, then the best option will be to head to Ben’s Independent Grocer’s, grab a bottle of wine and order some food from the food court. That’s why we loved staying at this hotel. Food choices are abundant and fits every budget range.
