Equilibria Seminyak Bali Review
We stayed 2 nights at the Equilibria Seminyak back in February 2018. It’s concept is unique, Equilibria is a state of intellectual, physical & emotional balance. Gone are the days where the hotel guest just requires a comfortable bed and a hot shower. Today’s cosmopolitan traveller works hard and plays harder. They are more health conscious, tech savvy, appreciate the finer things in life and value the world that we live in. some want to completely switch off from the rest of the world, some want to immerse themselves in culture, and some just want a much deserved romantic break.
They have 3 types of one bedroom villas with private pool from the standard pool villa to the luxurious waterfall villa and signature villa. We opt for the pool villa for our stay. The hotel is located close to the walking street of Seminyak, so everything is within walking distance. As it is located off the main street, a good landmark for reference would be the Red Carpet Champange Bar. From the Ngurah Rai International Airport, it is a 30-minute ride away. The hotel does provide private pick up service for a small fee.
What we loved about this hotel:
- 24 hour breakfast (At any time during the day or night, you may have your breakfast served. Great if you are not the morning guy).
- Breakfast in the pool (One of the highlights of our trip – the floating breakfast experience).
- Digital butler at your service (You’ll have a mobile phone with direct line to your personal butler. You’ll be able to make requests, dinner reservations, tours, etc).
- Complimentary cooking class (Learn some Indonesian/Balinese cuisine by the pool bar).
- Sunset canapes (Enjoy late afternoon canapes and drinks while you frolic by the pool)
- Entertainment (With so many media and tech available to keep you occupied, you need not leave the hotel, except for lunch or dinner. The excellent music playlist is great for chilling and lounging. There is cable TV, Sony playstation and also movies screenings near the main pool. All we need is a bottle of wine or two).
We were very impressed by the hotel, maybe the only area of improvement is their restaurant food. We had dinner one night and felt that the food was average. There are many food options available along Seminyak, so go out and explore.
When you are in Bali, you have to check out their local wine Two Islands. They have James Kalleske, born and raised in the Barrosa Valley as their winemaker. The Kalleske family is quite renowned for their wine from the Barrosa Valley. Visit their cellardoor in Sanur to taste their wine while you are here. They are also available at most supermarkets and restaurant.
A good place to lounge in style and have proper Asian food is Mamasan. They are just a few minutes walk away from the hotel. A wide selection of food and their interior decor is something to be admired. Reservations are a must as they are mostly packed during lunch and dinner.
