The Suhring Experience – Modern German Cuisine in Bangkok
Sühring showcases the best of modern German fare inspired by childhood memories, family recipes and years of travelling experience combining the essence of traditional dishes with contemporary Central European influences. The twin brothers Mathias and Thomas invite guests to their home, offering a warm hospitality in a relaxed, yet elegant environment.
Even though it was almost a year since we dined there, the experience still very vivid in our memories. It was my wife’s birthday and we were lucky to have secured a table as we booked within a week of the date. Prior reservation is a must as the restaurant is often fully booked even on weekdays. There are four seating areas to choose from namely the kitchen, dining room, winter garden or living room. We opted for the dining room and the later time slot at 7:30pm (the earlier one starts at 5:30pm). The time slots could have changed now. Check their website for details.
We chose to sample the Sühring Erlebnis with wine pairing. Each course is crafted artistically and has its own unique story. From their grandparent’s recipe to their aged sourdough bread, it is amazing how they designed their menu to reflect their story and experiences. Their pairing wines are carefully selected from Germany and Austria, perfectly complement and bring our the very best of each dish.
It was a memorable dining experience for us, especially my wife who enjoyed her birthday with their staff singing the German version of the birthday song. We were also treated to a photo opportunity with the Suhring brothers which we will remember for some time. I would rate this as one of the best, if not the best fine dining experiences we ever had in our lives. With their celebrity status and fame, I reckon their menu prices will be more costlier at the moment. So it is a good idea to give it a try now!
