The St Regis Langkawi Review: Premier Andaman Sea View Room
The St. Regis Langkawi is one of the most extraordinary luxury resorts in Langkawi, if not Malaysia. Nestled between century-old rainforest and panoramic views of the ocean, it is the perfect retreat and picturesque venue for a momentous destination wedding.
The Location
I was here with the family for a 4 night’s stay to commemorate my brother’s wedding held at the resort. As part of the wedding entourage, we managed to book the Premier Andaman Sea View Room at a special rate. The resort’s location is near Kuah town, Southeast of Langkawi island and it takes approximately 30 minutes drive from Langkawi International Airport. I felt a bit odd that the resort advertise its rooms as facing the Andaman sea which is facing the north. The truth be told, the resort should be facing the southern side which is the Straits of Malacca instead referring to the map. Well, maybe it is just me being picky 😛
The Check-In Process
As soon as we arrived at the resort in our rented vehicle, the hotel staff greeted us at the lobby entrance and offered us complimentary valet parking which was much appreciated. Soon, we were ushered to our room by the butler but not before a comprehensive tour of the facilities and the room. We were given a tour of the St Regis Bar with an impressive collection of premium and vintage wines, offering weekly wine tasting sessions and the venue for the daily afternoon tea.
Premier Andaman Sea View Room
The Premier Andaman Sea View Double Room is a whopping 62sqm/667sqft big, with an expansive balcony measuring 25sqm. The gracious indoor living space is lavishly furnished with marble top credenzas and sumptuous chaise lounge. State of the art technology, including 47” LCD television, High Speed Internet access and Bose sound systems, combines with elevated amenities in the alluring marble bathroom with dual vanity, paints a flawless island scene.

The room that we had was absolutely perfect with amazing ocean views to match. The St Regis butler service was excellent, although there were a bit overwhelmed at times. It took a while for us to get through the direct line and for the request to be fulfilled.
The Facilities
The gym or athletic club as they call it is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. The treadmill, indoor cycling, elliptical and step ladders were new and in good condition. We had a great time working out.
The swimming pool was not huge but sufficient, although we would have appreciated more sun lounges. It was nice to see that the resort provided complimentary sun screen lotion with different SPF levels.
