Semi-Buffet Lunch at The Prestige Hotel, Penang
The Glasshouse restaurant at The Prestige Hotel is the latest hotspot for Instagram-frenzy Penangites. The Glasshouse restaurant features a charming space with a tropical Victorian Eden interior design. It offers both local delicacies and international cuisine. The Glasshouse offers semi buffet spread that comes with any order of main course during lunch time.
There are a few spaces for you to opt to dine in at the restaurant. The main dining area faces the main road and is steps away from the buffet spread. It is where you can acquire the most sunlight and do some people watching while you dine. Separated by a walkway is the alternative dining area which is adjacent to The Prestige Arcade, a more relaxing non-air conditioned space to lounge.
We ordered the Nyonya Ulam Rice and Pan Seared Seabass, and a bottle of the House White Wine (Alaris Sauvignon Blanc from AsiaEuro). The buffet spread offers soup, salad, appetizers, an assortment of nyonya kuih, cakes and fruits which was regularly topped up till 2:30pm. The food was good, and for the price I would say it is a good deal.
The Prestige Hotel also houses many shop outlets on the ground floor. Amongst them, San Francisco Coffee is already operating and gēn 根 fine dining restaurant to be opened soon.
