Have a Wagyu-licious time at Beso Rosado

It has been a while since we came back here, 3 months to be exact, from the start of MCO till now. Our last visit was just before the MCO lockdown and this was the first place we had in mind when restaurant doors reopened.

We were delighted about Beso Rosado’s new menu and one really caught our eye. The Australian Wagyu Sirloin set menu for 3-4 pax with 4 cocktails/mocktails of the day with 6 specially selected side dishes of the day. The wagyu is a 360g steak with a marbling of 6-7 which is considerably premium just a few levels below the elite marble 9.

Marbling is the intramuscular fat (IMF) flecked through the beef, which gives the eating quality greater tenderness, juiciness and flavour and the Wagyu eating experience that consumers expect. The Australian Wagyu is notably more affordable and accessible compared to the top notch Japanese wagyu. Below is the beef grading guide for wagyu beef for reference.

The set menu priced at RM250 is a steal considering it comes with 4 cocktails and 6 dishes, sufficient to satisfy the tummy of four adults. Amongst the dishes were clams, croquettes, classic cold cappellini, etc. Elsewhere you may have to pay over RM200 for a piece of wagyu steak with similar grade.

The food at Beso Rosado has been consistently good over the years. I can’t recommend them highly enough. You don’t always have to break the bank to enjoy quality food and service. Beso Rosado is definitely one of the best casual dining restaurants in Penang. Hope it stays that way!
