Cream by ChinChin – Awesome Food and BYO Wine Free Corkage [Closed]
I wanted to try the food at this place for some time now but did not until recently when they announced their free corkage policy. Their BYO wine 7 days a week without corkage charge really caught my eye. I had to reconfirm during my booking process just to be sure. They are the only restaurant in Georgetown bold enough to offer this and hopefully they can maintain the policy for as long as possible.
We were allocated the private room as we were a group of seven people. The room can fit seven nicely but will be too crammed if any more than that. For dinner, they only serve the set menu which was a 4-course plus an Amouse Bouche and home-made bread and butter. As we had a vegetarian, they were flexible enough to customize their menu to suit our requirements. The modern European based cuisine was really impeccable, each course was very well balanced and cooked to perfection. The simple roasted chicken breast meat was cooked so moist and tender, and even the homemade onion butter was delicious.
The plating, presentation and combination was definitely well-worthy of fine dining standards. Not to mention their decadent selection of cakes from which we can choose for our dessert. By the end of the course, we were full to the brim and can’t take in anymore. Priced at RM98++ per pax, it was real value for money. There were some price supplements if you opted for some of their premium selections such as Blue Fin Tuna Tartare, Hokkaido scallops, Foie Gras, Black Angus Sirloin and Australian Lamb Loin. It was still well-worth the money spent.
Kudos to Cream for offering BYO wine at no corkage fee 7 days a week. Hopefully they can maintain this and encourage other restaurants to follow suit. Wish they would continue keeping up with the high quality standards. Well done!
