Bring Your Own (BYO) Wine Restaurants in Penang
Are you a wine lover? I bet you will always be looking out for restaurants that allow you to bring your own wine to enjoy with your meal. Having tasted countless bottles of wine and established a tasting profile, you would have known better than any sommelier out there on which wine would fit your budget and taste. By this stage, you would have expect to drink quality wine but not wanting to break the bank with restaurants marking up wine prices like nobody’s business. House wines are out of the question.
This is harder said than done, as many restaurants are highly dependent on their wine sales to earn a decent profit or even to break even. However, there are some restaurants that beg to differ and are allowing guests to BYO wine at a reasonable corkage fee or even for FREE! Of course, many Chinese restaurants don’t charge a corkage fee, however their glassware, pouring skills and ambiance leaves plenty to be desired. So Kudos to these heros, we should be patronizing these restaurants more frequently for being game changers! Let’s support them to ensure they maintain BYO for free 🙂

Cream by ChinChin just announced through their Facebook page that they will be allowing guests to BYO wine to dine with FREE CORKAGE 7 days a week. This is absolutely fabulous news as there are no non-franchise restaurants in Penang currently offering this benefit to their wine-loving customers. Markus Restaurant
Located at Cantonment Road, Markus Restaurant specializes in modern Italian cuisine. The restaurant has an extensive wine list and even its own climate-controlled walk-in cellar room. Markus’s corkage policy is as follows:
For Wines & Champagne, a small fee of RM30 per bottle is applicable for the service and glassware provided. Corkage for hard liquor is RM80 per bottle.
Every Wednesday is Corkage Free Day (customers are encourage to BYOB) for Wines & Liquor only.

Blue Reef Straits Quay Penang
