Decadent 3-Course Set Lunch: Indigo Restaurant at the Blue Mansion

Set lunches are trending recently. Many restaurants are jumping into the bandwagon offering set lunches by the course as people are looking for value-for-money deals.

Indigo restaurant had started offering its 3-course set lunch menu since the start of CMCO. Priced at RM78++, its 3-course set lunch consist of an appetizer, main and dessert with coffee or tea to end. To start, you can choose from the cured New Zealand salmon, Frisee and chicken cracklings salad or soup of the day. For an extra RM45, you may upgrade your appetizer to the seared duck foie gras or seared Hokkaido scallops.

For the main, there are the vegetarian field mushroom spaghetti, steamed clams with Southeast Asian broth, confit duck leg or seared New Zealand salmon. While for an extra RM50, you will be able to upgrade your main to the Australian beef tenderloin.

For the finale, you have a choice of premium ice creams such as mango & pomelo or local favourite Ondeh-Ondeh to pair with either coffee or tea.

We thoroughly enjoyed the lunch experience and felt that it was value for money. There was a good crowd of people on the Sunday we visited. Overall the food had improved significantly since our visit 3 years ago; every dish was meticulously prepared with attractive plating, the food was well-prepared, had the right balance and very delectable. Too bad the confit duck leg and ice cream options were not available during our visit. The other let down is the quality of the coffee and tea served which were subpar and tasted weird. Well, you can’t have it all can you?
